Next Contractors Meeting
Monday, June 5, 1:00 pm at the SBID Office, 823 Belknap St., Ste. L-10. (Lower level)
Belknap Street will be closed between Tower Ave and Ogden Ave starting at 6 am today (5/25/17) due to a leak in the old water main. Repairs are expected to last about half a day and thru traffic on Belknap should be resorted by around noon.
Project Staging, Schedule and Traffic Overview:
Banks Avenue to John Avenue (West End) Traffic Control
South Side Construction 4/11/17 – 6/15/17 Bidirectional on the north side.
North Side Construction 6/16/17 – 8/14/17 Bidirectional on the south side.
Median Construction 8/15/17 – 9/27/17 Traffic in the outside lanes.
Birch Avenue to Hill Avenue (East End) Traffic Control
South Side Construction 4/17/17 – 7/17/17 Bidirectional on the north side.
North Side Construction 7/18/17 – 9/24/17 Bidirectional on the south side.
Median Construction 9/25/17 – 11/14/17 Traffic in the outside lanes for
Traffic impacts:
- Memorial Day Weekend – The contractors will only work half a day on Friday 5/26/27 and won’t resume work until 6:00 am Tuesday 5/30/17 in recognition of the holiday weekend.
- Project Detours
- There is a signed truck detour utilizing the City of Superior Truck Route.
- There is also an alternative detour route signed for other traffic to bypass the project.
Work completed since last update:
- West End – Banks Avenue to John Avenue
- Water main complete from Banks Avenue to Ogden Avenue.
- Light bases complete at Banks Avenue.
- East End – Birch Avenue to Hill Avenue
- Pavement removals completed.
Anticipated work schedule for next week:
- West End – Banks Avenue to John Avenue
- Storm sewer installation
- Grading and gravel placement
- Electrical conduit installation
- Light bases at Tower Avenue
- East End – Birch Avenue to Hill Avenue
- Water Main
