Plan your perfect Homegrown night in the District!
The Superior Business Improvement District is excited to once again have venues hosting acts for the Duluth Homegrown Music Festival for Superior (Souptown) night, Thursday, May 5th! We want to help you plan the perfect evening of music and fun and enjoy all that the District has to offer!
Come Early, Come Hungry!
Why not start out early with a little shopping and some great eats. Pop into Globe News to browse for vinyl, comics and more or maybe do a little thrifting around the corner at Earth Exchange. If you’re into gaming, Games Then & Now has a great selection of used and new. Check out some art and gifts at Art on the Planet or Cedar Barn. Need a new outfit? Blue Arrow Boutique or Angie’s Closet have you covered!
Now let’s talk food. It’s important to fuel up for a big night out. If fine dining is your thing, check out the new Wissota Chophouse. Feeling for burgers? 7 West and Who’s Bar are always great options. Craving some ‘za? Welcome to Pizza Town! Grab a pie at VIP, or venture off Tower to Thirsty Pagan or Ride or Die. And for those late night munchies, Toppers and Erberts & Gerberts are open late!
Music & Drinks!
We’re proud that two of our BID businesses are again hosting live music as part of the festival. Take your tunes with some caffeine and a side of pastry at Empire Coffee and catch sets by Four Mile Portage at 5:30, Alchemie Dance at 6:30 and Paul Cerar at 7:30.
Let the good times continue at the Main Club. Enjoy some cocktails while checking out the sounds of the Sanz Trio at 8:45, Woodblind at 9:45, and the Crunchy Bunch at 10:45. Of course there’s more Superior music outside of the District so see the full schedule here.
Leave the Driving to Us!
The SBID is once again sponsoring the DTA Homegrown Trolley. The trolley offers safe, free rides to all of the Superior Homegrown venues and picks up at regular DTA stops along the route. Service will run every 20 minutes from 7 pm until 1 am. View the map for more details.
Stay the Night!
Don’t feel like driving home after all the fun? Plan ahead to make it a little “staycation” and book a room at either the historic Androy Hotel or the new Cobblestone Hotel and Suites. Both hotels have all the amenities and are conveniently located right on Tower Avenue. Check with the hotels directly for room availability.
If you decided to stay over, you’re probably in need of a good breakfast. Grab a hearty traditional breakfast at the Superior Family Restaurant. If gourmet waffles are your jam, look no further than Superior Waffles. More of a coffee and pastries kinda person? Check out Twisted Pastries or head back over to Empire Coffee.
Come See Us!
The District has everything you need to make it an epic Souptown night. We hope you have a wonderful time at the festival and come back to shop, dine and play with us again soon!
