The Tower Avenue construction began on July 28th and is expected to be substantially complete in the Fall of 2025. Minor work to finalize the project may be completed in the spring of 2026.
The City will be reconfiguring and rehabilitating pavement along Tower Avenue, between N 28th Street and Belknap Street.
The following are included as part of the project:
- Reconfiguration of Tower Avenue
- Addition of landscaped medians along Tower Avenue
- Select pavement rehabilitation
- Addition of bump outs at select locations
- Minor sewer reconfiguration
- ADA improvements
Project goals include improving safety for pedestrians and vehicles, creating a uniform Tower Avenue corridor, reducing pavement roughness, and preparing for future WisDOT projects.
During most of the project, Tower Avenue will be reduced to a single lane in each direction. For everyone’s safety, please drive with caution through the work zone, slow down, and follow all posted traffic control signs.
