Work on Tower Avenue is resuming. Significant progress was made during the 2025 construction season, and additional upgrades to the corridor will be completed in the coming months.
Travelers on Tower Avenue should expect closures of the outside lanes in both northbound and southbound directions. The inside lanes will remain open, and access to cross streets will not be impacted until later in the construction season.
Pedestrians should be prepared for sidewalk closures as crews install pedestrian bump-outs along the project corridor.
In addition to bump-out construction, work will include storm sewer improvements and pavement repairs in the outside lanes.
The following are included as part of the project:
- Reconfiguration of Tower Avenue
- Addition of landscaped medians along Tower Avenue
- Select pavement rehabilitation
- Addition of bump outs at select locations
- Minor sewer reconfiguration
- ADA improvements
Project goals include improving safety for pedestrians and vehicles, creating a uniform Tower Avenue corridor, reducing pavement roughness, and preparing for future WisDOT projects.
